MAUBISSE FLOWER MINI-FESTIVAL 2013

“The Beauty of Maubisse”

From 1300m above sea level, we would like to invite you to celebrate and enjoy together the richness of our nature and flowers of Maubisse, in Maubisse Flower Mini-Festival 2013: The Beauty of Maubisse. Maubisse Flower Mini-Festival will be held on Friday to Sunday, 11-13 October 2013 at Pousada de Maubisse.

There will be a bazaar of various flowers and flower products (pressed flower and dried-flower decoration), exhibition of educative information on flower, workshop on pressed flower (and possibly flower arrangement), discussion on development strategy of tourism in Timor-Leste, acoustic concert of Ego Lemos, quiz with prizes, and various other entertaining events.

Maubisse Flower Mini-Festival 2013 will present Gaillardia as its main flower. We nicknamed it “Timor-Leste flag” flower because of the similarities of its colors.

Holding this Mini-Festival is inspired by the garden of Pousada de Maubisse and its surrounding nature and panorama. With this inspiration, together with its location close to Mt. Ramelau, the highest mountain in this country, that inspired to create a popular song during the independence struggle, Maubisse has been one of favorite places of domestic and foreign tourists. Some rearrangement and maintenance will make Pousada de Maubisse garden a model of developing gardens/parks in this sub-district.

Various flowers grow at Pousada garden, though not designed to, are sources of flowers used for local rituals. The Mini-Festival expects to inspire developing flower-growing horticulture as home and nation-wide business, for meeting domestic flower needs. As it has been known, domestic cut-flower market is relied on import supplies. On the other hand, products from flowers, such as herb tea, pressed-flower and dried-flower, and various other souvenirs, have not been well developed.

Maubisse Flower Mini-Festival will be held in cooperation of Pousada de Maubisse, Maubisse Sub-district Administration, Maubisse Parish of Immaculate Heart of Mary (PICOMA), and supported by Community Radio Maubisse Mau-Loko, Yayasan HAK, Haburas Foundation, PARCIC and individuals like Ego Lemos (musician and songwriter).

Dari ketinggian 1300 meter di atas permukaan laut, kami undang Anda untuk bersama-sama merayakan dan menikmati kekayaan alam dan beragam bunga Maubisse, dalam Maubisse Flower Mini-Festival 2013: The Beauty of Maubisse. Flower Mini-Festival ini akan diselenggarakan pada Jum’at-Minggu, 11-13 Oktober 2013 di Pousada de Maubisse.

Kami akan menyajikan bazaar puluhan jenis bunga dan produk-produk bunga (bunga press dan dekorasi bunga kering), pameran informasi edukatif tentang bebungaan, workshop bunga press, diskusi tentang strategi pengembangan pariwisata Timor-Leste, mini-konser akustik Ego Lemos, quiz berhadiah, dan beragam acara hiburan lain.

Maubisse Flower Mini-Festival 2013 menjadikan Gaillardia sebagai bunga utama. Kami menyebutnya sebagai bunga ‘Bendera Timor-Leste’ karena kemiripan warna.

Mini-Festival ini terinspirasi oleh potensi taman Pousada de Maubisse dan lingkungan alam sekitarnya. Alasan itu, dan juga karena posisinya yang dekat dengan Foho Ramelau, gunung tertinggi di negeri ini yang menginspirasi sebuah lagu populer pada masa perjuangan kemerdekaan, Maubisse menjadi salah satu tempat tujuan favorit turis dalam dan luar negeri. Dengan sejumlah langkah penataan ulang dan perawatan, taman Pousada de Maubisse dapat menjadi model pengembangan taman-taman serupa di seluruh wilayah subdistrik ini.

Beragam bunga yang tumbuh di taman Pousada, tanpa dirancang, juga menjadi sumber pemenuhan kebutuhan bunga untuk acara-acara ritual di tingkat lokal. Mini-Festival ini diharapkan dapat menginspirasi pengembangan pertanian bunga sebagai usaha rumah tangga maupun negara, untuk memenuhi kebutuhan bunga domestik. Seperti diketahui, pasar bunga potong dalam negeri masih mengandalkan pasokan impor. Sementara produk-produk yang berasal dari bunga, seperti teh, bunga press dan bunga kering, serta beragam souvenir lainnya masih belum dikembangkan.

Maubisse Flower Mini-Festival ini diselenggarakan atas kerja sama Pousada de Maubisse, Administrasi Sub-distrik Maubisse, Paróquia Imaculado Coração de Maria Maubisse (PICOMA), dan didukung oleh Radio Komunidade Maubisse Mau-Loko, Yayasan HAK, Fundasaun Haburas, PARCIC dan sejumlah individu, seperti Ego Lemos.

Americans always want to fight anyone. it tells the world that the war should be stopped. but if we look back at the world's largest project is turned peace project in the world. and always initiated by the United States. it is more on American projects. said General Director Of FSG Timor Leste.
